Winning Names for What Shall We Name the Earrings?

Rainbow of Love!

Cotton Candy Blossom!

I was delighted to learn that my friend's little girl (well, not so little, she's turning 9 soon!) wanted to name my earrings, and she had some AWESOME ideas! It was tough to choose which names I liked the best, but I'm so happy to have some help :) Thank you, Kelsie Jo!

Kelsie has the option of two items for 50% off, or 1 FREE item. If it's ok with her mom, she can pick out a pair of earrings that I will turn into clip-ons. OR, she can get a custom-made crocheted headband, purse, or hat! :) And I'd like to give her mom a coupon as well for helping her out, of course! :)

Thank you guys!

Crochet Marathon

Slowly and steadily, I am adding to my collection for the Crochet for a Cause drive. Almost done with my second hat...

And here is one I made earlier today!

I'm thinking I will make more solid beanies for little boys, and flowery, stripey hats for little girls. I have to admit that the little girl hats are a little more fun to make, athough sometimes, I just want to crochet without having to switch colors. Either way, I am happy to be contributing to this drive.

I sometimes worry about making enough hats and scarves to donate before it gets too cold, especially since I will be pretty busy with school. But thankfully, my boyfriend's mother, who taught me how to crochet, is helping me out! She already has a box half full of donations, what a sweet lady! :) Her patience and dedication is inspiring, especially when I have difficulty in gathering up enough motivation to start or finish a project.

I got a new quilted crochet bag from my sister to tote all my yarn in, it's ADORABLE! Like some people who never leave the house without a book, in case they get stuck somewhere and need something to do, I have this bizarre need to carry lots and lots of different yarn with me. This is what I brought, just for the weekend!

I will be taking different kinds of donations for this cause until mid November (this might change, depending on how many items Mary and I can make).

Yarn is much appreciated! Any worsted weight, colorful variety, preferably not Red Heart (it's a little too scratchy) or other scratchy varieties (like wool). Cotton and acrylic work just fine, nothing too kinky, oober fuzzy, or stringy. I know, I know, VERY picky, but I have to be able to work with it easily and quickly, so it can't be too hard to work with, and it has to be soft!

Do you crochet or knit? If so, I'd love any donations of hats/scarves/mittens/gloves or other warm winter clothing. No donation is too small, if you can only spare a hat or a scarf, I will thank you over and over!

Don't crochet or knit? Can't afford much? I will also take gently used child-size winter clothing that you would like to put towards a good cause. Contact me at mjeversoll@yahoo.com, and we will work something out!

Ok, back to crochet, thanks for reading everyone!

New Location!

I'm happy to announce that I sealed the deal with a store owner in Seward, NE, and am now selling jewelry from THREE physical locations!

I'm also located at the Black Market on O Street in Lincoln, and Satinni Leather and Accessories in the Creamery Building in the Haymarket, downtown Lincoln.

Also online! I'm on a roll!

I've been making jewelry like crazy, because when I start school next week, I am not going to have ANY time to work on my business. I'm nervous because I will not be working this spring b/c of student teaching, so I will need to scrimp and save this fall so I won't fall short.

ALL the more reason to buy some jewelry from me. That, and the fact that it is AWESOME! :)

Crochet for a cause

Tonight, I am starting my project that I have been wanting to start all summer, but have been too busy to do.

Having worked in several jobs working with children, I have seen too often in the winter months, children going out to recess, and coming into school without hats, scarves, gloves, or even coats. Seeing them shiver and their exposed hands and ears grow red with the cold tugged at my heart, and so this year, with my new acquired skill of crochet, I am going to be starting a project in which I will make hats and scarves for kids who will need them this winter. Whatever I cannot make with crochet, I will use a percentage of my earnings from my Etsy shop towards purchasing coats and gloves.

Do you have a fantastic crochet pattern for mittens or gloves? I'd love to hear it, mail it to me at mjeversoll@yahoo.com :)

I work for a low socioeconomic status school's CLC program, of which all the donations will be made to. I am excited to surprise all the kids with bright and colorful, stylish new hats and scarves! :)

You can help too! 25% of every purchase made at my shop will go towards supplies to make the hats and scarves, as well as funding towards purchasing other winter clothing necessities to donate. Plus, a 30% off coupon towards your next purchase of any one lovely will be yours!

I will also be installing a Donation button, compliments of PayPal, in which all major credit cards will be accepted, and all donations, big or small, to go toward this very good cause!

Do you crochet or knit? If you have any winter-wear that you'd be willing to part with, message me or e-mail me, and we can talk about donation!

So... those are my thoughts on my project... for now.

I will be purchasing a large tub to put all the donations in, and taking pictures of its contents over the following months to show the progress I'm making!

First hat will be a turquoise hat, perhaps with white trim? Exciting!
